High Potential Season 2 Episode 15 Review: “Pie in the Sky” Delivers a Shocking Murder Twist

Episode 15 of High Potential Season 2, titled “Pie in the Sky,” pushes the crime drama closer to its explosive finale with a powerful mix of mystery, emotional storytelling, and conspiracy. The episode splits its focus between two major investigations, expanding the show’s world while also deepening the personal stakes for its characters.

The episode’s central case begins with the shocking death of retired astronaut Teddy Barrow. During a public appearance at a restaurant, a pie is thrown in his face as part of what looks like a harmless prank. However, the situation quickly turns tragic when Barrow collapses moments later and dies in front of witnesses.

Morgan Gillory immediately begins examining the scene, using her remarkable observational skills to analyze every small detail. Evidence soon reveals that the pie contained a highly toxic nerve agent, transforming what appeared to be a prank into a calculated murder.

Morgan’s investigation leads to a college athlete named Arden, who threw the pie after being convinced online that the stunt would make her famous. However, Arden had no idea the pie was poisoned. As Morgan digs deeper, the case becomes even more tragic.

The truth emerges that Teddy Barrow was secretly suffering from terminal brain cancer caused by radiation exposure during his time as an astronaut. He was preparing to publicly discuss the dangers of space travel before his sudden death.

The real killer turns out to be Heidi, Teddy’s fiancée. Believing that his illness had affected his judgment and fearing his speech would destroy his heroic reputation, she decided to kill him to preserve his legacy.

While Morgan investigates in Los Angeles, Selena Soto travels to New York to confront the powerful fixer Willa Quinn, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. Their tense meeting reveals just how dangerous Quinn is, setting up major conflicts for the upcoming finale.

With emotional twists and rising tension, “Pie in the Sky” stands out as one of the season’s most memorable episodes.
